Located in Calgary, Elizabeth House is a program of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Calgary, and is a home for pregnant and parenting teens. It provides a home for “at risk” pregnant or parenting youth and their babies who need a safe place to live. The physical, emotional & spiritual needs of the young women are cared for, and the program provides education to help the young Moms gain stability and independence enabling them to take good care of themselves and their babies for the long-term. Inspired by the Gospel story of Elizabeth welcoming a young pregnant Mary into her home, Elizabeth House is a place of refuge & holistic restoration where the active love of Christ is tangible, and the lives of women & children are nurtured. Elizabeth House depends entirely on donated funds, goods & services.
Our congregation has adopted Elizabeth House as one of our outreach programs, providing donations of new & gently used bedding, linens, toiletries, money and more. We delivered this to them before Christmas, and it was wonderfully welcomed.
Financial support is also greatly appreciated for the residents, as many of them have very little financial capacity - their needs are supported through contributions to the program. I current 'wish list' is attached, of items that Elizabeth House currently needs to assist with your donation choice.
